10 PRECAST BEAM AND BLOCK FLOOR/ROOF DECK:

Halfen produce a range of components designed for casting into precast concrete units for use in lifting during production, transporting and erection on site. They are not designed for use after final erection.
These components should be specified under ‘Other requirements’.

Rapid Lift System
Based on a steel anchor, capable of lifting loads up to 26 tonnes, per anchor which is cast into the concrete with a recess-former over the head. After casting, the anchor is below the concrete surface but the anchor hole is accessible, allowing a ring clutch lifting hook to be placed over it and locked by hand. After use the clutch can be easily released. Release under load is not possible.

Philipp Threaded Systems
A range of cast-in inserts with matching threaded lifting loops or eyes designed for loads up to 12,500 kg per fixing. The inserts can be mortared over after final erection.
Plain lifting inserts, in zinc coated steel or stainless steel, require anchorage reinforcement and are particularly suitable for thin units such as wall panels.
Crimped lifting inserts, in zinc coated steel, are particularly suitable for welding to reinforcement. Zinc coated steel.
Tailed lifting inserts, with a zinc coated steel or stainless steel socket and mild steel anchor tail, are particularly suitable for thin slabs and panels.
Capped end lifting inserts, in zinc coated steel or stainless steel, are particularly suitable for shallow precast units.
Threaded lifting loops, comprising steel rope and sleeve, are for use with any insert, offering high safe working loads.
Swivel lifting eyes, in steel, are for use with any insert, allowing angled or horizontal lifts, and are more durable than lifting loops.

Philipp cast-in hoops
A range of cast-in hoops, particularly suitable for large beams and stair units which will receive an in-situ topping to conceal the hoop.
Steel wire rope hoops are designed to take loads up to 57,000 kg per hoop.
Polypropylene hoops are designed for low-load applications up to 1000 kg.
