Angle Cleat Restraints.
Halfen can supply hot dipped galvanised hot or cold rolled mild steel angle cleats to provide lateral restraint to the top of internal walls. The cleats are fixed to the soffit of the floor slab at approximately 1500mm centres and staggered on each side of the wall.
Cold rolled cleats can be made to any size to order, but usually a 100 x 100 x 6mm section, 150mm long, is suitable for these applications.
Hot rolled cleats are available in the standard sizes given in BS 4848: Part 4.
Each cleat should be fixed to the soffit using two suitable site drilled holes.
Consult with Halfen technical literature for details. Halfen can also provide a design and specification service and it is recommended that they are consulted early in the design process. Alternatively a CAD disk can be supplied to assist selection and design by the specifier, subject to confirmation and final calculations by Halfen.

CHR 215 Telescopic Restraint for Concealed Details.
Designed for fair-faced masonry or where the head restraints need to be concealed. Comprises a two part tie which provides a positive fixing into the bed joint (utilising a holed bed joint tie welded to the outer vertical sleeve) whilst allowing vertical tolerance and differential movement. The vertical section of the tie is positioned in the brick or block perpends and are normally spaced at 900mm centres.
2 types of head fixing are available:
Where the exact position of the internal wall is known, Halfen channel cast into the soffit provides fixing position tolerance and eases installation.
For site location and fixing, the tie is bolted to the soffit using an M8 fixing.
Material: Stainless steel, Grade 304.
